Boasting an absolute classic, Kairo Keyz has burst into the spotlight significantly after releasing his 2024 single, GANG, which has been on almost everyone’s TikTok and Instagram pages. The tune, which starts with a now famous line, “I showed them love and they showed man hate, these days, that is expected,” is nothing short of a banger as he takes his fans through a series of different cadences and flows that are reminiscent of a young Headie One. But let’s go back to when it all started, shall we?
If you weren’t a fan of Kairo from the get-go, then you’ll probably be shocked to hear that he started off with a rather melodic style of rapping and later evolved into a more drill-inclined sound, which he uses to date. In his own words, Kairo’s biggest influence was the people around him, specifically in school. He revealed to Holly May of Mixtape Madness that his best friend in high school was getting into rap, and he was kind of a helper to his friend, doing videos and related stuff. He stepped into the studio one day, everyone loved it, and the rest is history.
Kairo has also given his mother flowers for playing a lot of R&B and rap to him when he was young. Reminiscing about the past, he shared that he has a lot of memories of listening to songs with his mom in the car on his way to school. Also, something really interesting, both his mom and dad were artists back in the day, Kairo’s mom was a singer, whereas his dad used to rap. It’s safe to say it runs in the blood. Something worth mentioning about Kairo Keyz is his hands-on approach when it comes to making music and can both direct and produce music.

Kairo Keyz started releasing music back in 2019 with his first notable single, ‘Genuine’ featuring K Stunz, doing quite well on streaming platforms. He followed it up with BACK2BACK, featuring Central Cee (before he was an international sensation), showing just how deep his hip-hop connections run. However, he hasn’t revealed his parent’s identities and prefers to keep it that way. He was born and raised in South London and is always repping his hood to date.
