Career and Net Worth
With a love of acquiring and operating large brands, Tai currently has a customer base of over 20 million across all his acquisitions. Some of the companies under his name include Pier1, Linens N Things, Dressbarm, The Franklin Mint, Mentorbox, FarmersCart, and The Book People just to mention a few, (yes, a few).
But I bet you’re probably wondering, how did it all start for Tai? Let me take you to the beginning. Tai started his career at GE Capital where he worked in wealth management from November 2001 to November 2003. Thereafter, he joined LLG Financial, serving as a founding partner from November 2003 to November 2007.
Most notably, Tai founded his now famous portfolio of businesses under the name, “Tai Lopez Brands” which he has been running since January 2011. In January 2016, Tai co-founded MentorBox, an LLC that owns and operates one of the biggest online book clubs and learning platforms all over the world. Thereafter in October 2018, Tai founded Grassfed Brand, a home delivery business of products coming straight from Joel Salatin’s Polyface Farm located in Virginia.
In January 2020, Tai founded ‘Tai Lopez Capital Group’ an investment group focused on distressed assets in trillion-dollar industries as well as other industries. Another thing worth noting (maybe) is that Tai became the executive chairman of Retail E-commerce Ventures in October 2019, a role he has served to date.
A side note; Tai Lopez started his self-titled website back in December 2001. He covers topics such as health, wealth, love, and higher purpose. Tai Lopez currently has an estimated net worth of around $60 million, which he has amassed through his multi-million dollar businesses.

Tai currently boasts over 10 million followers across all social media platforms. Lemme break that down for you. On Instagram, Tai Lopez has over 2.8 million followers in contrast to only following 3894 people. On Facebook, he has staggering numbers with over 6 million followers while following only 49 people (note that all figures are as of, August 23, 2024). The self-help guru of the online business world didn’t just appear out of nowhere—he got his start on Facebook, using it as a marketing platform back in 2008. But it wasn’t until a YouTube video shot in his garage went viral in 2015 that he caught the internet’s attention. You might remember it—the one where he talked about how books are way more valuable than Lamborghinis.
By 2016, he was already advising aspiring influencers, telling Entrepreneur.com that they should seriously think about using Instagram stories and Snapchat.
